Karate

My nephew has found a new passion in karate. Here he is as serious as can be during his test for his first belt:

Another gorgeous sunset

The weather has been wonderful on Anna Maria this month and the sunsets have been breathtaking so here's another post on sunsets. Spent a lovely evening walking along the shoreline watching the sun going down. Once it set and I turned around to walk back home and voila, the moon was low but full.

Had to post the latest sunset pictures as it was spectacular! A group of dolphins came out to feed along the shoreline and I caught one....

Longboarding

So what is this new thing popping up all over the island? A longboard is a surfing/skateboard variant, similar and related to a surfboard or snowboard with wheels. It is used for cruising, downhill racing, slalom racing, sliding, and/or transport action, most stunts, however are very different from the typical skateboard. They usually take place during the descent of a hill, mostly slides, carves, manuals and "dancing" the board. Here are my friends giving us a demonstration:

What the heck is it? Well as it turns out it is a very unique, instructional painting class! We got a bunch of friends together, brought some wine and snacks and we came home with an original piece of art! We were guided through the process step-by-step and I think we were all pretty surprised at the end!
