The newest Admiral

This morning was my brother-in-law's long awaited promotion ceremony! The family gathered together at the Navy Yard in Washington DC for the big moment. Here he is saying the oath, having his shoulder board replaced and a group shot from left to right of his brother, my sister, my niece, me, his mom, the admiral himself, my nephew and his dad. Congratulations, Tilghman!

Another summer comes to a close

With school starting after Labor Day, the time has come for my niece and nephew to get back home and resume their studies. Sadly we left the Vineyard yesterday morning. It was a beautiful morning so naturally I could not help taking a few final pictures of the perfect island!
